Amazing atmosphere! It felt so authentic and the food was amazing! So delicious and the best part about it were my waiters: Daniel and the rest of the team! They were so friendly and gave great recommendations! 10/10 would visit again.
Not a big fan of Indian restaurants in Glasgow, as the original Indian flavours are tailored to the taste sensitivities of people here. The interiors were well made, trying to bring reminiscence of things we come across in India. If it's quiet (Mondays) they might close the kitchen soon. Wasn't happy with customer service. To elaborate, we went with a mindset to just eat food. But the waitress seemed to look down on us since we didn't feel like ordering any drinks. May not have been her intention, but her gesture seemed like mockery( she replied like - "why not?"). We felt bad.
We ordered Delhi chicken kurma, Mutton biryani and butter naan. Everything was low on quantity, but I can't complain much since the price was also 10-15% lower compared to its competitors. Naan was good and aromatic. Raita was good. Kurma's taste was okay and it's almond flavour worked pretty well. I resonated with other google reviewers - who uses peas in biryani ?š
Overall it's a decent place to try. A typical
Indian food would have 10 different flavours. This place managed to cover about 2 or 3 maybe. Basic, but well done compared to so many other (disappointing) Indian restaurants in Glasgow.
First time here, and it was fantastic!!
Bagged 2 deals from it is on Ā£10 for 2 people
( 2 starters 2 main 2 sides)
Portion sizes were perfect!
The food was absolutely delicious š
The decor inside was colourful and cosy
The staff couldn't have been any nicer.
Everyone was so smiley and friendly!
We all left absolutely stuffed!!
100% recommended and cannot wait for the next visit! š«¶š½
I had moved to Glasgow for a bit and it was my first time living away from home and my momās cooking. Coming from a South-East Asian background, food and specifically the usage and combinations of spices means a lot to me and thatās why I find a lot of comfort when I go to Rickshaw and Co.
Every visit to Rickshaw (Iāve lost count by now) has me satisfied, smiling and a full happy belly. Also, I really like how they allow us to customize the spice level so it can really hit the spot and cure my āhomesicknessā for my momās cooking.
The staff and manager are sooo pleasant and friendly to engage with. I go so often, I lowkey consider some of the staff as my friends lol. They make really fun drinks and the ambience in general is very wholesome. The decor is to die for and you can really tell the amount of effort the Rickshaw team has put into this restaurant.
The best Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant in Glasgow!!āØ
We ate lunch at Rickshaw & Co. The service was really great and it's decorated beautifully. I can see how this place would be fun and lively in the evening for dinner!
We ordered the:
- Kemma Pav (wouldn't order again)
- Butter chicken (probably the best I've ever had!)
- Butter naan (delicious)
- Chickpeas salad (wouldn't order again - very bland)
- Chicken pakora (wouldn't order again)
Overall, the food was okay! I'm not sure I'd rush back as there are many really great Indian restaurants in Glasgow.
Special note:
I really appreciate their collaboration with Homeless Project Scotland. They provide them with warm meals every week. Very touching.
Very cute place. Popped in for lunch on a Saturday, not busy but also not dead. The food was good but I've had better. Very cute decor
A cute little restaurant not too busy but attentive staff great dishes and all for under Ā£20 I was super impressed with that, I shall have to remeber this place for food in Glasgow,
Yummy food! Loved the Pani puri, Pav Bhaji, Fish Pakoras.
Creamy Black Daal with Lamb Lajawab went perfectly with Pilao Rice..
